Sometimes we feel that our life is too stressful to even encounter and face negative vibes or situations. However, you have to know that you can always get your way out of these situations and win it. It's just a matter of how you deal with it because negativity are inevitable and can just ruin your day or mood. Here are some ways on how to get rid of negative vibes/people and brush it off.
JUST BREATHE AND LISTEN. I would always have stressful encounters with cab drivers every morning on my way to work. To avoid the rush hour queue and being late, I would always book my cab ahead of time. However, due to GPS deficiency on the app, they always get the wrong location which is actually a block away. Therefore, I would always get a complaint from the drivers and some just rudely cancel my booking even if I would plead not to since they will just take a turn and if I book again, I would have to wait for another 30 minutes and eventually be late. Most cab drivers would pick me up instead but will reprimand me for giving them a wrong location even if I would explain that it is the app's problem and I have reported it already. Case in point, sometimes, I would just let them talk and listen rather than answering back and argue with them. Most of the time when this happens, they would stop talking and just drive. Sometimes, you just have to breathe and let them rant, vent, or express their side or feelings rather than exploding which would worsen the situation. It's the first step of being calm during stressful situations and listening is one of the best things you can do for someone.
KNOW THE WORTH. In every argument or fight, always think first if it is worth the stress. There are some things in life that is not worth to be stressed over especially if we do not have control over it. Like for instance, getting annoyed over social media posts and comments which do not affect you personally. Sometimes, we would randomly find annoying things or posts in our news feed and if you give in to it, you would just add up the stress which you could have been avoided in the first place. In that case, if you always find someone's posts annoying every time you see it, then just simply click unfollow. You don't have to explain yourself further for that action because you are just doing yourself a favour there. And as the popular saying goes, the one who gets pissed first becomes the loser.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE. Always know that you are in control of your life. You could not please everyone. You can always avoid or get rid of the negativity. You could not say that you're stuck or don't have a choice because you can certainly do something and choose what's best for yourself. You can simply ignore negative comments or criticisms especially if they are not constructive and meant to put you down. You can also say NO if you do not feel comfortable in doing something or be with someone and you do not owe them an explanation too. You should not allow negativity to ruin your day or even destroy you.
RELEASE AND REWARD. We all have bad days and as what I've said, there are times when we can't do anything about it. With that, just release the bad vibes by sharing it to someone like your friend or confidant and reward yourself with anything to feel better. Remember, don't hurt someone or displace your anger or annoyance to them. You can release it in a good way where no one will be affected. For instance, you can do running or boxing to release the stress and generate happy hormones (endorphins). Do something that you know will make you feel better like karaoke. But what works for me is always sharing it to someone instantly and making them listen is more than enough to make me feel better. Then you can take this chance to reward or treat yourself like having pizza and ice cream. I mean, who doesn't feel better after having pizza and ice cream?
BE MORE KIND. Even if we go through different level of problems in life, it doesn't hurt to be kind to everyone. You should not pass the negativity to other people, instead, turn it into something positive. Let's make this world a better place by being kinder. Sometimes it's hard to be nice especially if you can't even simply make yourself smile. With that, be kinder and gentle with yourself first. Space out to avoid affecting others with your nega vibes. Same way when you meet someone who did something rude or mean. Try to be understanding and just think that maybe they're having a bad day and brush it off. Be more patient with these people because the problem is with them and it should not affect you. Stay on your course if you're on a good mood and instead of getting pissed first, try to show sympathy. You might just make them feel better also.
