Summer is almost near and so I've thought of sharing with you my most favourite beach destination on earth which is Boracay Island, Philippines. It's one of the best islands in the world which is known for its stunning white beaches, clear blue waters, and great parties. There are different areas in the whole island which may suit your preferences and interests. You may opt for a crowded and eventful places where the shore and restaurants are always packed especially during dry season or spots for water-sport activities. Otherwise, you can find certain areas which are secluded and may give you a private space to enjoy and just chill by the beach with a cold beer. Man, just thinking of that makes me wanna go there tomorrow. Anyway, here are some photos of my latest visit and I inserted on the last part two throwback photos which I've taken last 2009/2010, I think.
In my latest trip, I booked Fairways and Blue Water Newcoast since I wanted to try a private hotel away from the main beach to avoid the crowd. I just wanted to relax and do something different compared to my previous trips. I was lucky to get a better deal when I booked online. I did not know what to expect and the total experience was amazing. First of all, they have excellent service and staff. Next, the room was amazing, clean, and quite huge for a standard type. Then, my most favourite part was their food particularly their breakfast buffet. They have a lot of facilities inside the resort alone such as Zipline, ATV, Golf course, and etc. which is enough to have a good time. I just went to D'mall or main beaches to shop and check what's new.
Don't you just love the breathtaking views in the resort? They have a private beach and different kinds of swimming pools such as infinity and with a bar. To top it all, they have free shuttle service inside the resort and also in the main beach. It was totally worth the price and this is definitely the best accommodation and resort in Boracay, in my opinion.
Boracay is also known for its wide variety of cuisines and great food especially fresh seafoods. Just like this succulent pork belly from I love Backyard BBQ which is actually a popular restaurant in Station 2. I would also recommend Don Vito's Lasagna and brick-oven pizza, Loco Frio for your go-to alcoholic shakes, and Jonah's mango shake. Also, your Boracay experience would not be complete without trying out the buffet dinner by the beach with live music. It's definitely the best way to enjoy the fresh seafoods such as oysters, crabs, shrimps, and lobsters and the aromatic smoky barbecues which are normally included in the buffet.
I'm sure you have heard about Calamansi Muffins which can be found in The Real Coffee. It is one of the oldest and local favourites in Boracay which you must try.
As per the bar's name, nightlife in Boracay is simply epic. This one is located in Station 2 near D'Mall. If you want to know how crazy and wild it gets, you must try doing Laboracay which is a yearly event every labor day (May 1). Otherwise, make sure to try out and enjoy the nightlife when you visit because it is really something to get drunk and wild in Boracay.
I remember my first visit was when I was 4 or 5 years old and it was a 'virgin' island then, but now, it is totally developed with its upscale hotels and bars. But even though it has changed a lot, Boracay is always something that I'd go back to no matter what because by the time you step in there, all your worries and sadness are washed away by the shore.
Love and Peace.
