On our 6th year in Taste of Abu Dhabi, we were so excited about the food and the entertainment line-up which was why we got two days pass. On Thursday (November 7), I did not take much pictures because it was so crowded and the lines in the food stalls were long. But the food did not disappoint although when we went back for our second round, there were nothing much left.
We got pizza from Diablito, Siumai and roasted duck rolls with noodles from Dai Pai Dong which was our favorite, and Shawarma from Sambusek.
It kinda looks plain but this lobster pizza was so good.
This Duck Fat Beef Burger from Butcher & Still was ok. It was not that impressive.
My favorites not because I am Asian but they are just so delicious and savory. Chicken & Shrimp Siu Mai and Cantonese Roasted Duck Rolls from Dai Pai Dong.
Scott's Roll from another favorite restaurant that night - Desert Lotus was also good and well done.
Then we have dessert from Desert Lotus which was the Mango Sticky Rice. It was my first time to try it and I did not know it was that yummy and tasty.
Another highlight of the event for me was when I went to a coffee-making class and the barista taught me how easy it is to make a good latte or cappuccino from scratch. The coffee was so good and I am not being biased here.
Some people came for food while most came for the Boyzlife. They are both from the 80's and 90's famous boybands, Westlife and Boyzone. They were so entertaining and sounded so good. I felt like they brought me back to my childhood and early fan days.
A lot of attractions and events were there in Taste of Abu Dhabi but definitely, the highlight was the entertainment headliners and the great restaurants. I was a bit dismayed though because I know Abu Dhabi has a lot to offer in terms of good food but only few came to the event. Also, there were so many single-use plastics consumed during the event. I hope there will be a way for the organizers to minimize it. I am hoping for a much better line-up of restaurants and performers next year. Of course, I am anticipating it as early as now.
